Hemp FAQs and the Whole Hemp Phytocannabinoid Rich Oils Difference From the SanSal Farm

An industrial hemp harvest is legal pursuant to Colorado and Federal Statutes when tested compliant by the Colorado Department of Agriculture.  Oils extracted from this hemp and products offered for sale must also contain no contaminents.

Sansal Wellness has developed unique genetic strains of “industrial hemp” that produces high levels of phytocannabinoids while maintaing compliance with state restrictions. Our laboratory tests and processes the high phytocannabinoid broad spectrum cannabinoid hemp using the latest extraction, post-extraction, and analytical technology to further minimize and totally eliminate contaminents from its oils.  SanSal produces Hemp Oils exceeding 70% cannabinoids; distillates exceeding 80% phytocannabinoid; THC free phytocannabinoid Oils; and a phytocannabinoid crystal isolate of over 99% pure phytocannabinoid compound with “0”  THC, and “0” impurities.

Measurable phytocannabinoids present in extracted hemp oil which include CBC, CBG, CBN and others not yet identified. According to current research, each of these phytocannabinoids have unique medical benefits. There are many other compounds present, including various flavonoids and terpenes imparting additional benefits and characteristic flavors and aromas to the oil.

These components can be isolated from the oils – often by distillation- and used in various ratios to formulate oils with different phytocannabinoid and other cannabinoid strengths, terpene profiles, and other variables. Phytocannabinoid as a single crystal isolate can be produced from pure distillates produced from the oil.

Hemp seed oil and whole hemp oil are products with a big difference. Hemp seed oil is produced from pressed hemp seeds, usually from hemp plants grown for fiber and used as a food additive. Hemp seed oil contains proteins and essential fatty acids including Omega 2 and 3 but only whole hemp oil contains beneficial phytocannabinoids, terpenes and other compounds. Therefore, there is a difference in therapeutical benefits which research indicates can only be provided by the broad phytocannbinoid spectrum in high phytocannabinoid whole hemp oils and the phytocannabinoids contained in its derivatives. Hemp seed oil is often used to dilute and decrease the viscosity of whole hemp oil extracts because the oils blend well and there is the added nutritional benefits provided by the seed oil.

If ever used by SanSal, we only source USDA Certified hemp seed oil in products.

Whole hemp oil — perhaps better named broad spectrum phytocannabinoid rich hemp oil — is the complete oil extracted from the leaves and flowers of hemp strains wherein the cannabinoids and terpenes are in high concentrations. The difference in whole hemp oil is that it provides the ‘Entourage Effect’ which is the interdependent action of the various hemp phytocannabinoids on the human endocannabinoid system, which research indicates provides the optimal physical benefits.

Many report the remarkable difference in the affects on the body when a whole plant oil is consumed in place of low quality, low to zero, phytocannabinoid strength oils extracted from the stems and roots of low grade hemp imported into the US from China, Europe, and Canada. The sources of these oils of hemp are used mostly for fiber, animal feeds and industrial lubricants. In addition to having very low levels of phytocannabinoid achieved by adding phytocannabinoid compound isolates, they often contain heavy metals and pesticide residues.

Hemp oil and hemp extract are names often used for oils extracted from hemp plant stalks or seeds. The difference between these oils and whole plant broad spectrum phytocannabinoid oils are that they contain no phytocannabinoids unless infused with isolated phytocannabinoid compounds to produce an oil with a low percentage of only the CBD cannabinoid.  These oils are imported from Europe, China or Canada. The FDA has tested many of these oils and found most to have very little, or no CBD present in the oil.

Whole hemp oil is a superior product extracted from the flowering buds and leaves of a broad phtyocannabinoid hemp strain, high in phytocannabinoids. The difference from a low grade hemp oil from stalks or seeds is that it provides the desired ‘entourage effect’ and the benefits that only these superior phytocannabinoid oils can provide. Whole hemp oil should be certified by a testing laboratory as being high in phytocannabinoids with no pesticide residues or other impurities. Derivative products such as distillates and isolates from these oils should contain very high phytocannabinoid percentages.
